What Is Your Relationship Status?

What is Your Relationship Status?

How are you? How are things going in your world? How are you feeling about your relationship with Jesus? Stop for a second and let yourself respond honestly. Do you feel like your relationship is growing or stagnant or are you just totally confused about whether you have a relationship at all? Last week, we talked about the fact that religion can be a dangerous business. If we are busy practicing religion, we have lost our way. You see, God does not desire that we become ultra-religious. Jesus did not come and lay His life down so that we could be religious. We are not created and called to go through the motions of Christianity so that we can appear to be religious. Religion is not the point. It is all about having a relationship – a real, authentic and growing relationship with Jesus. So, what’s your relationship status?

("Saved by Grace, Now What?" available here.)

In John 10:10, Jesus tells us that He came so that we could have life and have it more abundantly. It begins by doing as Jesus did - we must lay our life down for Him, the way He laid His life down for us. We are to die to our flesh and raise up to walk in relationship with Jesus. Have you done that? Have you experienced that? If there is any doubt, take time to visit the "FREEBIES" page and print off the plan of salvation. Today can be the day you decide to lay your life down. Or, if you have done that you may want to place this print out in your Bible and be ready to share the great gift of salvation with others.

Life is not about appearances. Life is not about “me” and my feelings, opinions and desires. Life is not about being happy and making sure those we love are happy. Life is about so much more. Our time here is short and is passing quickly. This life, our life, is all about our relationship with Jesus and everything else flows from it. It is our only hope. It is our only security. Wherever you are today, raise your hands in surrender and decide to live today and every day for Him!

When asked what is the greatest commandment of all…

Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the first and great commandment.’
— Matthew 22:37-38

That is what we are to do. So, today let’s get busy doing just that.

A note from Pam:

Hi! I hope you are having a great week. I know you are super busy, but let's all make sure we create margin in our lives to spend time with Jesus. It is worth it. It is the most important thing we can do and impacts every area of our life. Hey! Will you do me a favor and like, share and talk about this blog and these posts. Let's share Jesus anywhere and everywhere we can. It will matter for all eternity! Love you and thank you for being here with me! ;-)
