What Am I Going to Do with Jesus?

Spring has sprung, Easter has passed, and the resurrection talk has ceased. So, here we sit – having posted family pics with our Easter attire and super cute baskets – left to decide, “What am I going to do with Jesus?”

Who does the Bible say that Jesus is?

In “Saved by Grace, Now What?”, I explained it this way…

Jesus, the Son of God, is God. Confusing? Yes, it is confusing, but our inability to completely wrap our mind around it does not change the fact that it is the absolute truth. John 1:1 tells us, ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.’ John uses Word to refer to Jesus Christ and this scripture declares His deity. Verse 2 goes on the tell us that like God, Jesus has always been. John 1:14 explains, ‘And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and love.’

Why did He come? Because ‘In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.’ (1 John 4:10) Wow! God loves us so much He sent His Son to die for us so we could spend eternity with Him. Jesus said in John 14:6, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’ So, through Jesus we have forgiveness, reconciliation to God and have been granted eternal life.

But there is more. Jesus is our friend. He loves us more than anyone else loves us and lived His time on earth as an example for us to follow. He loved us enough to take on our shame and die for us.

Jesus is the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords. He is the Light of the World, the Rock of Salvation, and the Anchor for our Soul. He is the Lamb of God and poured out His blood for us. He is our hope and the answer to our problems.

Even if we don’t know it yet – Jesus is, can be, wants to be and will always be our very best friend.

So, ask yourself, “What Am I Going to Do with Jesus?” What if we determined today that we are going to…

  • Believe on Him
  • Love Him with all of our heart, soul, strength and mind
  • Spend time with Him
  • Trust Him
  • Rest in Him
  • Walk with Him
  • Surrender to Him
  • Give Him all praise and glory
  • Live EVERY day for Him
  • Tell others about Him

On Easter, we celebrated the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus. We declared that He lives and because He lives we can now live in Him, right? Let’s be like Paul and make his word our heart song, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

What am I going to do with Jesus?

Maybe we should be inspired by Abigail…

Maybe we should live for Him and tell others about Him? What do you think?

A Message from Pam:

During April, we are talking about Jesus. Who is He, What He did and What we are going to do with Him. What we do with our belief in Jesus matters. It truly is what matters most. Take time to think about it. What are you doing with Jesus?

Do you know Jesus? If you just aren't sure, download the Plan of Salvation and read through the scriptures. I would love to chat with you about it. Feel free to reach out to me.
