Nothing Could Matter More
We think we know Jesus and we fool ourselves into believing we are living for Him, when we are just living for ourselves. We think we know all we need to know, when we don’t know very much. We become satisfied with milk and do not realize we crave solid food.
This morning I flipped open “Saved by Grace, Now What?” and these lines in the book I wrote stared me in my face and stopped me in my tracks. They leapt off the page and I couldn’t see around them. Lift your eyes and read those lines again. Is that you? Is that me? Are we just going through the motions, pretending that we are living for Jesus while we are preoccupied with getting our way, doing our own will and trusting in ourselves more than we do Jesus? Are we surviving on the milk or basic truths we learned long ago and not making time to devour the meat of God’s word?
We need to get it. We need to get it so we can share it with others. This life is not about us; it is all about honoring God, knowing Him and sharing the hope of Jesus. That’s it!
When we stand in front of the Great I Am, what do you think He will ask? How much money did you make? How many followers did you have on Instagram? What was your Body Mass Index? How many square feet was your house? What was your title at work? What did people say about you? Were you nice? How young did you look? How attractive were you? Were your children happy? Did you have wrinkles? Tell me about the parties you hosted. Did people treat you well? Did you have everything you wanted? Hmm…… NO! How silly. We live as if what is not important, matters a great deal and as if what matters most, doesn’t.
Serious question… what do you elevate and make a big deal that simply is not a big deal? What are you focusing on and giving your time to that at the end of your life will not matter at all? How do you spend your time? How much of it are you using to honor God and share Jesus? There is more! There is so much more than just walking in and out of a Sunday morning service. Time is ticking, this life is short.
Look around you – things are not okay. People need Jesus. They need you to know Him – really know Him. When you know Him and elevate Him to the proper position in your life, you will quit worrying about you. When that happens, you can hear Him more and you will learn to and want to share Jesus with others. It starts here. It starts with us. It starts now.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.”
Are you ready? Are you ready to invest time to know Jesus more? Yes! Yes! Yes! Let’s say Yes! There is no excuse, no exception, no way around it. It is time. Let’s do it. Let’s do it together! What could be more important?
You see there is a paradigm shift that must take place. We must shift from being self-absorbed to being consumed with Him. (Saved by Grace, Now What?)
Get ready! The minute you say, YES! the battle will begin. Satan will do all he can to thwart your quest, derail you, and distract you from your journey to more with Jesus. The path will be treacherous, yet it will be the best, most beautiful journey of your life. (The battle has begun… Before I could safe this post, our electricity went out. When it came back up, Word had recovered it but I couldn’t save it. I tried to relaunch Word and it said I needed to purchase. On and on…. I chose to practice what I preach and trust God. Well, obviously He took care of it because here is the post. Praise Him!)
Let’s link arms and do this together! Let’s create a community where we grow and change and come to know Jesus more and more intimately and then inspire those around us to do the same. Can we do that? Let’s do that! I am not sure how to do that, but I am passionate about it! Aren’t you? I feel God leading us in this direction, so I will be in prayer about it and see what God reveals.
