Purpose, Pursuit, and a Willing Spirit

Take a moment and ponder…

When was the last time you were intentionally focusing on pursuing the purpose God has for your life?

Isn’t it so easy to rush through day after day after day after day and not give any thought to your purpose or God’s plan for you?

And doesn’t it come naturally to zoom focus on your personal plans and seem awkward, even difficult, to pursue God’s purpose for your life, your leadership, and your legacy?

None of us are here by mistake, we were created on purpose and given purpose – yet life is quickly passing by. Many days are gone and we aren’t sure how many lie ahead. Will we rise -up and pursue our God given purpose? Or will we continue to just get through the day, make our own plans, and ignore the promptings of our Creator?

In Saved by Grace, Now What I wrote, “We were not created for our self-fulfillment. Life is not all about me; it is about something far greater. The closer we grow in our relationship with Jesus, the more we come to understand who God is. The more we understand who He is, the more we will surrender our selfish nature to Him. The more we surrender, the more clearly we will see His plan for us, revealing His purpose and His calling for our life.”

We all have a purpose. The question is,

“Am I willing?”

Am I willing to make my life a living sacrifice like it tells me to in Romans 12:1-2?

Am I willing to go and tell – spreading the gospel - like the Great Commandment says I should?

Am I willing to reflect the Light of Christ as I lead others to Him – like a city on a hill in Matthew 5:14-16?

Am I willing to rise-up and become the leader God created me to be, leading others into a relationship with Him – in my home, in my workplace, and in my community?

If you said, Yes!, to those questions – I am rejoicing with you!!!

As believers, we have got to stop playing small and start stepping boldly toward the pursuit of God’s purpose He so perfectly designed for each of us! We were not called to hide our Light under a bushel. We were called to lead out in love, in obedience, and in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Let’s rise up and lead out beginning today!
