Where is Your Focus
Where is Your Focus?
Have you ever heard quotes like,
Where you focus is where you will go and
What we think about, we bring about?
“Always remember your focus determines your reality.” George Lucas
“Your life is controlled by what you focus on.” Tony Robbins
We have all heard these quotes, but do we believe it?
What if shifting our focus could change everything? Could it really be that simple? Could what we focus on determine the quality of our life, our experiences, and the trajectory of our life?
I found a note in my journal and it got me thinking…
What if we were to focus on the bigness, the goodness, the provision, and the mercy of God?
What if we were to fix our focus on Jesus and engage Him in every area of our life?
What if we were to focus on applying God’s word to our life and do what God is calling us to do?
When our focus is on all the wrong things, it leads us astray. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to live my life off course. I want to make the main thing the main thing.
So, today, can I remind you that we are to…
Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. Colossians 3:2
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, Matthew 6:33
Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. Romans 8:5
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Hebrews 12:1-2
And let’s not forget Peter walking on the water. (You can read about it in Matthew 14:22-33). He could have stayed in the boat and floated along, but He locked eyes with Jesus, threw his leg over the side of the boat and walked on the water with Jesus.
I believe we have the same opportunity.
Will you live your life floating in the boat safely awaiting heaven or will you fix your eyes on Jesus and walk on the water with Him? Will you enter into the more He has for you? Will you do what He is calling you to do?
I am praying for you! 🙏
(And I want to encourage you to be a water walker, an eagle person, going about your Father’s business. Fix your focus, rise up and live your life on mission. Someone is waiting for you to do what God is calling you to do. Life is too short and eternity is too long, to pretend pointing others to Jesus doesn’t matter. It matters greatly and we all should have started long ago. Don’t wait another day. Start today.) ((Oh… and if you need someone to hold your hand – I am here.))
Change your focus, change your life!
It matters!
