His Presence, Provision and PROMISES – Part 3
As Daughters of the King, we have quite an amazing inheritance. It includes God’s presence, His provision and His promises. Are we partaking of all He has given to us? These amazing gifts are ours to embrace, so don’t leave them wrapped up in the box – out of sight, out of mind. We have discussed experiencing His presence and trusting in His provision, so this week let’s talk about standing on His promises.
God knows that we struggle. He knows that we don’t have it all together like everyone seems to think we do. He feels our pain, catches our tears, and carries us through each and every day. And no matter what is happening in our life today, we can stand firm on His promises.
God’s word is full of His promises. Here are a few to cling to today…
Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
God promises in this verse that good will come from every trial and every heartbreak. He can use these times to grow us and change us and bring us closer to Him. If we trust in Him, then we can declare Genesis 50:20, “But as for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.” No matter what evil comes our way, God will work His good plan. I love this quote…"In a thousand trials, it is not just five hundred of them that work for the good of the believer, but nine hundred and ninety-nine, plus one.” George Mueller
Here is another one that reminds us that our hope is in the Lord.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
And one of my all-time favorites…
Isaiah 41:28-31 “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
When I read the scripture above – it is almost as if God is saying, “Duh! What are you worried about? I am the Creator of all and I am in control. You can do all things in My strength. You can serve in My power. And if you place your hope, your confident expectation, and your faith in Me – then you will be transformed – you will mount up on wings as Eagles and rise closer to me – becoming set apart for my Glory.” Whew! That makes me want to shout, HALLELUJAH!!!
Let’s look at a few more…
Philippians 4:19 “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
Matthew 11:28-29 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
2 Peter 1:4 “Through these He has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
I can’t stop…
"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand." John 10:27-29
"In my Father's house there are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." John 14:2-3
God is good, isn’t He? There are hundreds of promises in His word. I have a journal with 85 promises hand-written. When I am desperate for a promise, I grab my promise journal and Bible and start declaring these promises over my situation.
Every promise in the Bible is ours. Claim them. Stand on them. The more time we spend reading and studying God’s word, the more confident we will become that His promises are personal and we will claim them over our lives, our marriages, our children, our children’s children and every situation. We will learn to stand firm.
We have His presence, His provision and His promises. We have everything we need in Him! Rest in this good news today.
