Making Exchanges to Live Your Best Life

So I have been thinking a lot about making exchanges. I believe making exchanges is a must for us believers. We have to take our way and exchange it for His way. We should exchange our striving for complete surrender to Jesus. We are to exchange Satan’s lie for God’s truth. I could go on and on, but can I encourage you today to start considering what exchanges you need to be making.

If you have been following along, you have heard that I have launched a new ministry with a couple of my friends called, Engage for More. (We would love for you to follow our newsletter, our podcast and our Facebook group.) As we have been diving into different topics, the idea of making exchanges continues to arise. We recently shared about exchanging What if for Even if. God has me continuing to ponder this and asking Him for wisdom and discernment regarding the exchanges I need to make.

God is so good. As we give Him our needs, our shortcomings, our fears, our doubts, our struggles - He exchanges them for something so much better. Recently (like last week) I truly released the need for approval and He has shown me that He has approved me. I have carried this burden for as long as I can remember, but have finally released it and have received freedom that only He could provide. It was not only spiritual, but even physical as I felt it fall away. I even feel lighter, more free. This is what I am praying for you. I am praying that God reveals to you the exchanges you need to make so you can be set free!

What exchanges will you make?

After all… there has been a great exchange made for us. 2 Corinthians 5:21 tells us, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” After reading this I hopped over to The Message translation and read it…

16-20 Because of this decision we don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don’t look at him that way anymore. Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life emerges! Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he’s already a friend with you.

21 How? you ask. In Christ. God put the wrong on him who never did anything wrong, so we could be put right with God.
— 2 Corinthians 5:16-20 The Message

Let’s do this, friends. Let’s continue to encourage one another to make exchanges that will keep us on the path to intimacy with our King! Less of me, more of Him… this is what we want! And all God’s girls said… Amen!
