Bring Them Here to Me
Bring Them Here To Me
“Bring them here to me.” That is what Jesus said when the disciples told Him they only had 5 loaves and 2 fish. Have you ever stopped to think about what was happening? If there were thousands of people to feed and we only had 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, what would we do? I don’t know what you would do, but I would get a little spastic and go into overdrive mode. I would be running around like a crazy person, recruiting people to run get groceries and trying to find solutions to what would feel like an enormous crisis.
What would you do? There are thousands of hungry people there. You are a part of the leadership group. They are not leaving; they are waiting for you to feed them. What would you do? Would you step up and try to help? Would you shrink back and let someone else deal with it? Would you worry and fret? Would you let the meal you felt the people should have become more important than the simple act of just being with Jesus?
Well, what should we do? We may not have thousands of hungry people waiting to be fed, but we have something that is challenging in our life…
broken relationships
wayward children
a health crisis
pain that won’t pass
financial struggles
loneliness
loss of loved ones
addictions
hard personal circumstances
and others…
What are we doing with those? We look at our problems and we realize what we have – a broken heart, a deep yearning, an emptiness, a concern, a fear – and do you know what Jesus says? He says, “Bring them here to Me.”
Bring them here to Me. That is what we are to do. We are not to be spastic, go into overdrive and try to fix our problems. We are not to shrink back and let someone else take the lead. We are not to worry and fret and fear. No. We take what we have and we bring it to Jesus. You see, He can take our mess and He can perform a miracle in our lives. It’s that plain and simple.
Wherever you are, whatever you are going through, whatever you are holding on to – bring it to Jesus. Don’t hold onto it and wait for Him to do something. You go to Him – He is waiting for you.
Hi friend!
Thank you for reading this today. It means the world to me.
I believe we were created to be in relationship with one another and to encourage each other on our journey to intimacy to Jesus. You see, I lived many many years as a believer who lived for myself, not for my Savior. God got my attention and I am so thankful that I now know Jesus in a way I never knew was possible. And… I know there is still so much more. So, let’s invite our friends to join us. You can help me share just by Liking, commenting on and sharing this post. It makes a difference when you do.
