There Has to Be More
Is this you? You are busy trying to do all the things. You are completely overwhelmed by your life, yet still there is a deep place within your soul that is longing for more. There has to be more. Yes, you love your family. Yes, you love your friends. You love Jesus. You even love your life. But… you know. You know that there is something you are missing. You want it – whatever it is, but you are not sure how to go about finding it.
Jesus Himself told us, “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” The problem is we are not sure what we are supposed to ask. What is it we are seeking? Which door should we approach to knock? We are tired. We know the right answer is always Jesus, but there is this mystery that we cannot seem to solve. We just want someone to tell us what to do. How do we find this more?
The world shouts and leads us in all the wrong directions. We can’t find more in a bigger house. More is not found in perfection. It is not in worldly success or six pack abs or size 4 jeans. More is not in the bottom of a bottle or a happy pill or two or three. All of these things are temporary and leave us still longing for this more.
You are not alone. I think you might be surprised if you knew how many relate to this scenario.
You were created for relationship. You were created for community. You were created for more.
I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10
I remember almost 10 years ago having this longing for more. I was busy, so busy. I loved my life, my business, my family, yet I was completely overwhelmed. God was calling me to more. I sensed it in my spirit – more… more... At first I argued, telling Him I couldn’t do any more. I worked all the time. My life was full with family and all their activities. I stayed up late and got up early. Yet, still He whispered, more.
Eventually, I came to understand God wasn’t asking me to do more.
He was inviting me into more.
And today, He is inviting you into more. What will you say?
What if there was a community of women who were searching for the same thing you are missing. What if they were willing to stop pretending to be perfect and instead were transparent regarding their longing. What if you could all link arms and find it together?
